Skin Tag Removal
Safe and effective skin tag removal using Advanced Electrolysis at The Blemish Removal Clinic in Dublin 6.
What Are Skin Tags?
Small treatment.
Big difference in confidence.
Skin tags are small, soft growths of skin that commonly develop in areas where skin rubs together. They are completely benign and are one of the most common concerns I treat at The Blemish Removal Clinic.
Skin tags often appear on the neck, underarms, eyelids, under the breasts and other skin folds. While harmless, they can catch on clothing, jewellery or shaving and many people simply prefer to have them removed for comfort or cosmetic reasons.
How Are Skin Tags Removed?
Skin tags are removed using Advanced Electrolysis, a precise treatment that uses a very fine probe to deliver controlled heat directly to the tissue. Most skin tags can be removed quickly and cleanly during a single treatment session.
Following treatment, a small protective scab forms as the skin heals naturally. This typically falls away within 7–10 days, revealing healthy skin underneath.

What Results Can You Expect?
Treatment is often much quicker than people expect. As a guide, approximately 40–50 skin tags in the underarm area can often be treated within a 15-minute appointment. Results are immediate, with continued improvement as the skin heals and settles over the following weeks.

Preparing for your Appointment & Aftercare
Pre-Treatment Pep
Clean Skin: The target area must be completely free of makeup, heavy moisturisers, or oils on the day of your visit.
No Fake Tan: Avoid applying fake tan to the area for at least 48 hours prior to your removal session.
Skin Health: The surrounding skin must be free from active infections or open irritation..
Post-Treatment Aftercare
The Healing Process: A small micro-crust will form within 48 hours. Do not pick or scratch it; it must fall off naturally to prevent scarring.
Keep it Dry: Keep the area clean and dry. Avoid swimming pools, saunas, or intense sweaty workouts for 48 hours..
UV Protection: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily to the healed skin for 30 days to protect the fresh tissue.
Will Skin Tags Come Back?
The skin tags that are successfully treated will not return. However, if you are naturally prone to developing skin tags, new ones may appear elsewhere over time.
This is not a sign that treatment has failed. Some people are just more susceptible to developing new skin tags in the same are. But new ones can be treated just as effectively if they develop in the same area, in the future.
IMPORTANT:
Treatment may not be suitable if: You have a pacemaker, an implanted defibrillator or if you pregnant or may be pregnant
